The Founder of Soudi Group

Dr. Abdel Moneim Seoudi

Dr. Abdel Moneim Seoudi in brief :

  • 1970 obtained his Ph. D. Degree in Agriculture Science, Measuring Economy from Ein Shams University.
  • 1972 resigned from being Academic Staff to start his own Private Business which leaded later on to be “ SEOUDI GROUP “ as one of the leading private sector groups in the region.
  • 1975 he was the first business man to introduce Japanese Cars to Egyptian Market, as he obtained sole agency for two of leading car brands in Japan, Suzuki Motors and Nissan Motors.
  • 1988 encouraged by the success of sales figures of Suzuki Cars in Egyptian Market, he established First Private Sector Car Assembly Plant in the region, to assemble Suzuki commercial vehicles and Passenger Cars.
  • 1996 as a result of excessive success of sales of both Suzuki and Nissan Cars, decided to establish “ Nissan Egypt “ assembly plant in biggest industrial city in Egypt “ 6 of October “ to be his second assembly for Japanese Cars in less than 10 years to start with Pick Up Vehicles as first phase then passenger cars for second phase.
  • 1999 Re-establishment of Japan Egypt Business Council, Dr. Seoudi was elected as Chairman to the Council, considering his contribution to Mutual Relations between both countries.
    Dr. Seoudi still keeps his chairmanship to the council since then.
  • 2004 After the visit of Mr. Carlos Ghosn ( CEO of Nissan Motors Japan ) to Egypt, watching and touching the reputation built for Nissan Cars in Egypt, Nissan Motors Limited NML acquired the assembly plant in 6 October City, where they are producing now, Pickups, Sunny Passenger Cars and X-Trail of the SUV type.
  • Today and after three decades under the leadership of Dr. Seoudi, Seoudi Group has grown and diversified its activities to include leading subsidiaries and affiliates in the different fields of Manufacturing, Contracting, Real Estate, Services, Environment, International Trading as well as Financial Institutions and Portfolio Management.
  • The effort put into creating the group did not prevent Dr. Seoudi from conducting his active role in public service, where he :

      Chaired the board of the largest and most influential non-governmental body in Egypt: The Federation of Egyptian Industries from 1997 till 2005.

      Chairs The Egyptian Automobiles Manufacturing Association " EAMA ".

      Was the chairman of The Chamber of Commerce for Automobiles Agents and Distributors.

      Was a Board member of the Federation of Egyptian Chamber of Commerce.

      Board member of the Egyptian Businessmen Association.

      Board member of the Arab Investors Union.

      Was a Board member of the French – Egyptian Chamber of Commerce.

      Board member of the Investors Federation of Arab League.

      Was a Board member of the Arab – Egyptian Chamber of Commerce.

      Was Board member of the Egyptian German Chamber of Commerce.

      Was a Board member of the Confederation of Arab European Chambers.

      Was a Board member of the Trustees of Customs and Taxes Committee.

      Member of General Assembly of Egypt Air Co.

      Was a Member of General Assembly of Holding Company for Water and Sewage.

  • On the Academic Side :

      Dr. Seoudi is a board member of the Sixth of October University and Ain Shams University.

      Member of Council of Faculty of Agriculture, Ein Shams University from 2001 till 2006.

  • On the Financial Side, Dr. Seoudi was a board member of :

      The Social Fund for Development.

      El-Watany Bank of Egypt.

      El-Mohandas Bank.

      The Egyptian Commercial Bank.

  • On the Social Side :

      Dr. Seoudi founded The Sixth of October Investor Association 1995, chaired it till end 1996, and still the board member.

      Board member of trustees of The New Mubarak Industrial City and Port of Alexandria.

      Member of the Higher Council for Childhood.

      Board member of HRRO.
